    Limits and restrictions

    • Styled letters are not a real font. Each letter is swapped for a different Unicode character that looks similar, which is why the style survives copy and paste. Screen readers may read these characters one by one or skip them, in-app search may not find a styled word, and devices without the right font show empty boxes.
    • This is not real bold formatting; in a document editor, use the editor's bold button.
    • Accented letters and most symbols have no bold version and stay as typed.

    Tips and best practices

    • Bold one key phrase, not whole sentences.
    • Bold sans usually matches app fonts best.
    • Keep links, prices and names plain where people may search or copy them.
    • Check the result on a phone before posting.

    Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as bold in Word or Google Docs?

No. Those apps apply formatting. This tool swaps characters, which is useful only where formatting is not available.

Does bold Unicode text hurt accessibility?

It can. Some screen readers read each letter separately. Use it sparingly.

    Which style is most readable?

Bold (sans) usually matches app fonts best.

    Can I make numbers bold?

Yes, in the serif and sans bold styles. Other styles keep digits plain.

Why did my Γ© stay normal?

Unicode has no bold version of accented letters, so they are kept as typed.
