Limits and restrictions
- Presets are common recommended sizes. Instagram's help center states photos are shown up to 1080 px wide; other platforms change their guidance often, so check their help pages.
- Images over 25 MB or 50 megapixels are refused to protect your device's memory.
- JPG has no transparency; transparent areas are filled with your background color.
Tips and best practices
- Use crop for photos and letterbox for graphics with text near the edges.
- Use PNG for screenshots and graphics with sharp text.
- Use WebP for small files where the platform accepts it.
- Keep important content away from the edges; apps may crop previews further.
