Frequently asked questions
Does a heading count as a sentence?
Yes. A heading on its own line counts as one sentence and one paragraph.
What is a good sentence length?
There is no single rule. Many writing guides suggest mixing lengths and keeping most sentences short for web reading.
Does it work in other languages?
It works for languages that use similar punctuation, but the abbreviation list is English only.
How does it handle "…"?
An ellipsis followed by a lower-case word does not end the sentence; followed by a capital, it does.
Why is a paragraph highlighted?
It has 6 or more sentences or 150 or more words, which can be heavy to read on screen.
